QUALITY & ACCEPTANCE

Inspection before shipment.

Know what is checked, against which requirement, and which records will arrive with the parts. Agree this before production starts.

Begin with the acceptance criteria.

Confirm the drawing revision, material and final treatment. Identify critical features and any application-specific acceptance requirements.

Resolve unclear fits, surfaces and datum references before setting the inspection plan.

Define the inspection scope.

  • Features to measure and drawing references
  • Inspection stage, including after treatment where needed
  • Sampling or checks on each part for specified features
  • Required report format and part or batch identification

Use the right record for each requirement.

RecordWhat it documents
Dimensional reportReported measurements against specified limits
Material certificateAgreed material information and identification
Treatment recordEvidence for the specified process
Packing identificationSupplied part numbers, quantities and batches

Make release conditions explicit.

If reports or samples need approval before shipment, name the approver and define the release point.

Connect any discrepancy to the part number, revision, quantity and requirement. Rework or a proposed concession needs an agreed decision.

Keep the agreement with the order.

WhaleResolve coordinates inspection and records against the accepted scope. Bring receiving or assembly feedback into the repeat-order review.
